The Collector

The Collector

(A Discussion)

If you've ever read any of my postings on Live Journal or any of the lists I belong to, you've probably realized I usually have no problem spouting off nonsense. I enjoy participating in Love of Me and Thee's episode discussions, because I get to give my opinion, and wax on and on about what I love in any given episode.

The first two times I'd participated, I'd come out lucky. I'd gotten two episodes I could honestly say I enjoy, The Psychic and I Love You, Rosey Malone. This time out, I got season three's The Collector. I have a confession--The Collector wouldn't be listed as one of my top ten episodes. Heck, I don't know if it would be in my top 50. Though the guys look good and there are some nice scenes, for my taste, far too much time is given to guest stars I could care less about (and yes, I say that about an Academy Award nominee and a future Emmy and Golden Globe winner).

So I sat down to rewatch this episode, frankly concerned. What could I come up with to share with the list? How could I be enthusiastic about something that really doesn't get me all that enthused? How, after reading thoughtful discussions from people like Flamingo and Laura McEwan, could I possibly bring any insight to this particular episode?

And you know what?

I couldn't.

When it came to depth or reflection, I came up with nuthin'.

So I swam to the shallow end of the pool. And found the water was fine.
